- Due Mar 20 by 11:59pm
- Points 37.5
- Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
Objective:
To help Nike identify and understand new and growing consumer segments, and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers, you will create a worksheet that organizes market segments and their characteristics. Additionally, you will compute some values based on the provided data. This assignment will familiarize you with entering and formatting text and numbers, and using formulas in Microsoft Excel.
Instructions:
1. Set Up the Worksheet:
-
- Open Microsoft Excel and create a new workbook.
- Save the workbook as "Nike_Market_Segment_Analysis_LastName_FirstName.xlsx".
2. Enter Text and Data:
-
- Use Bold to format all of the column heading cells that you just entered into your worksheet.
-
Use the Wrap Text alignment formatting on each of the column headings in the first row.
-
Resize the columns to properly view the labels and values you entered.
-
Use a formula to calculate the value for each of the cells in the Semi-Annual Total column. The formula should add together the cells of the 1st Quarter Sales and the 2nd Quarter Sales.
-
Calculate the value of the Percentage Change cells in column by using a formula. The percentage change is calculated by first using the cell reference for the 2nd Quarter Sales and subtracting the 1st Quarter Sales, then dividing by the starting value in the 1st Quarter Sales. Use the picture of the solution above to check the values you created by your formulas.
-
Use the Percentage Style in the Number group of the Home tab to format all of the values in the Percentage Change column.
