Resume for Student Researcher – 2025

- File Types pdf
Purpose:
This assignment is to help you in preparing a personal resume that markets you to a future employer or graduate/professional school.
Genre:
Please create/edit a current version of your resume. By "current" it should describe you "today" rather than the person you think you will be when you graduate. Be sure to include a description of your research experience.
In addition, your resume should be general. In other words, it does NOT have to be a complete or be for a specific job/opportunity. You should consider using the online tools/resources that Ms. Williams described during her presentation in the group meeting. This should be very helpful in writing your "bullet" points.
NOTE: Your understanding of your research experience will certainly change as the summer proceeds. But, it is always easier to "edit" an existing resume than to begin from scratch. So, consider this a "first draft" of your current resume.
Process:
- Create/Edit a resume marketing the "current" you.
-
Save your summary in PDF format (.pdf) format.
Please "name" your PDF with the following filename format: lastname-firstname-resume-summer-2025
e.g. doe-jane-resume-summer-2025 -
Submit your file to Canvas (attach your file to this assignment) by 6:00 pm on the due date.
-
I will review your resume to determine if you've made an attempt at describing your research experience. I will not otherwise "evaluate" your resume. For better feedback, I encourage you to make an appointment with the BSU career center. Recall that your tuition supports the career center. Get your money's worth.
